Day 2

Went to the gym today, got in a 30 minute swim. So I guess that's my cardio. Brad told me about the higher protein in Greek yogurt so I went out and got some. Actually pretty good! Mine was flavored with Vanilla, I hope that's ok. Anyway, got a text from Brad and he said Thursday at 7pm will be open for me. And then he asked how I was doing today. Being the good smart ass that I am:
"... totally fine today. Just finished a 30 minute swim"
"Awesome! Very happy 2 hear that! So I'll cu Thursday"
"Yeah then maybe we can get in a REAL workout! ... just kidding ... lol!"
"Oh ur gonna get it! Don't dance w the devil!"
"Idle threats, ha, I laugh in the face of pain!"

I'm probably gonna get KILLED on Thursday. I'm stocking up on pain killers now!

Day 1!

Okay, so here I go! I have my first session with a personal trainer in about a 1/2 hour. His name is Brad and he's a local guy who has had some amazing results with my friends. I'm not sure what to expect, but I'm looking for a body transformation. I've always been kinda skinny but with that layer of baby fat the just won't go away. Now that I'm 47 I am still slender, the layer of fat is still there but now matter how hard I have EVER worked out, which has been a lot, I've never really had the body I wanted. So, yes, this is a bit self indulgent. I have saved up enough for a 2 month program with Brad at an hour twice a week. It's something I've always wanted to do but have not only never been able to afford it, but I've kinda been a little scared to commit to it because I knew I would let something get in the way of following through on it. That's why I'm posting on this blog. For maybe a little bit of a tracking of my own success for motivation. Maybe a little encouragement from anyone unfortunate enough to have run across this blog and for whatever reason decided to follow this ... Whatever. I am going to try to commit to this and keep it updated with my success. As time goes on maybe I'll share a little more about me personally, but for now, let's keep it physical. ;)

So here are some of my objectives
1) Great abs and nice pecs. Don't want man boobs, just a nice chest. 

 2) Arms, well maybe not quite as big as this guy but .. hey, why not?

 3) Butt, my biggest "shrinkage" since I left the swim team after high school and my most difficult ASSet to improve.
4) Back, affecting my posture as I get older and I notice it even more in my dad to I wanna get some strength here to straighen up a bit better.

 5) Shoulders, had 2 shoulder surgeries this year and after 6 months of PT I have full range of motion but am terribly weak. I really want to get some strength back here so that I NEVER have to do the surgery thing again!

Okay so that's what I want to shoot for and here's where I'm starting from. Go ahead, it's okay to laugh, but I'm determined to try as hard as I can to get the bodyparts above.

So that's it for now. Headed off to see Brad. More pix next week with perhaps a few updates on my progress in between!
